XFX has been of NVIDIA’s closest partners for near 10 years, but the cooperation that started in 2001 have been rumored to come to an end. Rumors started to spread that NVIDIA had decided to cut the ties to the European graphics card maker when it decided to clean out the list of partners. After digging some more, we have received information from sources close to XFX that it is not only still one of NVIDIA’s partners, it is also working on Fermi-based graphics cards.
The information comes from a very reliable source and they have informed us that the longterm cooperation between the two giants is nowhere near to end. With thirty or so NVIDIA-based graphics cards in its offering XFX is a very important partner to NVIDIA.
XFX’ success with its venture for AMD’s ATI Radeon series of graphics cards have of colored the relationship with NVIDIA, but it far from the only one who makes cards with chips from both camps and if we are to believe the latest information it will remain so for the foreseeable future.
This is of course good news for all consumers who will get more options, at the same time we feel even more confident that Fermi is coming along nicely.
