Efficiency and environmentalism are two commonly used terms among electronics manufacturers. Not the least power supply makers are catching up to the time and hunt for new 80 Plus certifications continues. We now have found out that Cougar is going for the Gold with a new series of power supplies. And by Gold we are of course referring to the desirable 80 Plus Gold certification, which is handed out when a power supply achieves 90% efficiency at 50 percent load.
Cougar already has one of the most efficient 550 watt power supplies with the Cougar S 550, but the new series will consist entirely from 80 Plus Gold certified power supplies. Cougar G will be the name of the new series, containing six models from 500W up to 1050W.

Cougar is a relatively small actor compared to many other companies, but with a complete series of 80 Plus Gold certified models the company should have some nice leverage against the competition.
