We earlier revealed some bits on Gigabyte’s coming Radeon HD 5870 Super Overclock that will arrive sporting 1GHz GPU clock frequency. MSI’s equivalent will be called MSI HD 5870 Lightning and it has now been caught stripping before the camera; no cooler or anything covering the reworked circuit board design.
The circuit board is around a centimeter higher to make room for the 12 phases and with dual 8-pins PCIe power connectors there is plenty of fuel for those who are looking for bring the stock frequency of 1GHz higher, much higher.
The card has dual DVI outputs, one HDMI and one DisplayPort output. The exact specifications of the card will not be revealed until launch, same for the price. We are really looking forward to the overclocking battle between MSI HD 5870 Lightning and Gigabyte HD 5870 SO.
