ASUS looks to be the next company to adapt LucidLogix’ Hydra. Hydra makes it possible to pair graphics cards from different vendors or even architectures to improve performance. Motherboard maker MSI has already launched products with Hydra and have more coming. Now ASUS wants a piece of the cake. ASUS Crosshair IV Extreme is targeted for the Socket AM3 market and house the latest AMD 890FX chipset.
Crosshair IV Extreme targets enthusiast and brings support for many graphics cards through no less than five PCI-Express x16 slots. Other features include USB 3.0, SATA 6.0 Gbps, ROG Connect for wireless overclocking, 7-channel audio, four DDR3 memory slot and other goodies.
The price hasn’t been set yet and as far as we know the launch date hasn’t either, but we have received hints that i will appear in July.
