Senare under dagen väntas Apple lansera sin omtalade tablet. Kärt barn har många nämn sägs det och trots att ingen vetat riktigt säkert om Apple verkligen planerat lanseringen till den 27:e januari har vi hört namn som iSlate, iTablet och iBook. Även om vi fortfarande inte är säkra på vad Apple döpt sin tablet till kan vi nu tack vare E-bokhandlaren McGraw-Hill vara säkra på att det faktiskt blir en tabletlansering idag.
Företagets vd Terry McGraw avslöjade i en intervju med CNBC att hans företag har portat 95% av sina e-böcker till Apples nya tablet enhet som ska lanseras inom några timmar.
“Yeah, Very exciting. Yes, they’ll make their announcement tomorrow on this one. We have worked with Apple for quite a while. And the Tablet is going to be based on the iPhone operating system and so it will be transferable. So what you are going to be able to do now — we have a consortium of e-books. And we have 95% of all our materials that are in e-book format on that one. So now with the tablet you’re going to open up the higher education market, the professional market. The tablet is going to be just really terrific.”
McGraw som garanterat inte längre är en av Apples bästa bundsförvanter avslöjade även att den nya tablet enheten ska baseras på iPhone OS och med andra ord får direkt tillgång till Apples 100 000+ applikationer i App Store.
