Plantronics isn’t exactly new to headsets and the new GameCom 777 model certainly shows it. With 7.1 channel audio through Dolby ProLogic IIx and Dolby Headphone technology it offers a complete surround gaming experience.
Plantronics uses a Dolby USB sound card that connects to the computer and house two outputs, one of the headphones and one for the microphone. Since the headphones only has two 40mm elements we’re of course talking artificial surround sound, but Plantronics claims that Dolby’s sound technology will accomplish astonishing effects.
GameCom 777 is made from military-grade material to endure wear and tear, and bursts of anger. The cups are open and the microphone has noise reduction technology for clear conversations. Plantronics is expected to launch the new headset in June, price pending.
