AMD Radeon HD 6000 family is planned for launch by the end of October, but for each day that passes more information surfaces along with pictures of new cards. We now have pictures of what is claimed to be Radeon HD 6800 with 1GB GDDR5 memory and the Barts GPU.
Specifications are still foggy, but Barts will probably use a 256-bit memory interface and the card on the picture have the same set of video outputs as the picture of the claimed Cayman XT (Radeon HD 6900). The graphics card comes with dual 6-pin PCIe power connectors and Barts is cooled by a most likely temporary ORB cooler.
AMD Radeon | Evergreen 40nm (2009-201055) | Northern Islands 40nm (2010-2011) |
Mid-range | Radeon HD 5700 (Juniper) | Radeon HD 6800 (Barts) |
Performance | Radeon HD 5800 (Cypress) | Radeon HD 6900 (Caymen) |
High-end | Radeon HD 5900 (Hemlock) | Radeon HD 6990 (Antilles) |
Most of the coming cards have now been caught on camera now and it feels like it is just a matter of time before we get some more detailed information on the cards and the Northern Islands architecture. If nothing else Barts is slated for launch in little more than a month.
