Opera has been one of the most popular and updated browsers in recent years, but in terms of users it has been left behind by the big dragons. The Norwegian company has now presented the alpha version of Opera 11 bringing support for extensions.
Opera 11 alpha is available for download and even it is just an alpha version there are numerous extensions available at the official site. Extensions can be programmed for Opera through the own Opera API (Applikation programming interface) and makes it possible for third-party developers and users to expand the functionality of the browser without the help of Opera.
Extensions are not really news, it has been available with Mozilla FireFox for a very long time. Some of the extensions available today is a quick button for sending links from the browser to mobile phones, and a function for downloading YouTube videos.
