Storage maker Kingston has presented a new external storage unit that takes advantage of the company’s leading position. The external SSD comes packed with MLC NAND flash circuits and has 256GB capacity. HyperX Max 3.0 also comes with good transfer performance.
Kingston HyperX Max 3.0 has beefed up to handle the life outside a case and is protected by a blue aluminum cover measuring 73.49mm x 118.60 mm x 12.00mm. Through SuperSpeed USB 3.0 it can live up to the HyperX branding with good transfer rates. It can reach 195 MB/s when reading data, and 160 MB/s during write.
Thanks to low power consumption the unit doesn’t need any dedicated power supply. When connected to a USB 3.0-capable port the activity LED shines blue, but when USB 2.0 the LED goes green.
