Storage maker RunCore has presented a new SSD with sizable storage in 3.5″ format, along with staggering performacen. RunCore says that it has managed to squeeze in 1 TB data and dual SandForce SSD controllers to reach speeds up to 500 MB/s.
RunCore hasn’t revealed any detailed specifications, but interestingly the unit supports SATA 6.0 Gbps, which is not supported by any current SandForce SSD processors. This makes us wonder which SandForce processors it has used in RAID 0. If it is the new SF-2000 family the specifications look almost wimpy. Perhaps it is a single SandForce SF-2000 controller and loads of flash memory circuits.
Launch date and price pending.
