MSI was the first motherboard company to adopt the LucidLogix graphics bridge chip HydraLogix. We now have information on another high-end model for the Sandy Bridge platform – MSI Big Bang Marshall – that beside the Hydra circuit has room for no less than 8 graphics card slots.

MSI Big Bang Marshall uses Intel’s P67 chipset and supports the new mid-range processors Sandy Bridge with LGA1155 sockets. Also the processor is well taken care of with 18 power phases and four DDR3-2000 memory slots and no less than two 8-pin power connectors and a single 6-pin power connector, the latter most likely for the graphics cards.

The main attraction is the LucidLogix circuit that enables graphics cards of varying models to work together and even if we’re uncertain if more than four cards can work in multi-GPU there are are som exciting possibilities with aboard that has eight PCIe x16 slots.

Other neat functions include measuring spots for voltage, OC Genie overclocking, dual Gigabit Ethernet outputs, USB 3.0, SATA 6.0 Gbps and 8-channel audio processor.

MSI Big Bang Marshall shows that LucidLogix is very much in the game and the only thing we need to know is the price.
