MSI has launched a new mini-ITX motherboard for Intel’s popular mid-range processor Sandy Bridge. MSI H61MU-E35 B3 is based on the budget H61 chipset and thanks to a Spartan design the company has managed to keep the price at a minimum. The board can be found for as little as 60€.
MSI H61MU-E35 B3 is a motherboard that on the whole only has the most essential, but reach a price that should appeal to the budget-aware users. With Intel H61 there is support for Intel’s integrated GPUs of Sandy Bridge and the board has both D-Sub and HDMI outputs. With only one PCIe x1 slot MSI is counting on users to settle for the integrated graphics.
The good thing is that MSI has chosen to use dual DDR3 DIMM slots instead of the more tedious SO-DIMM slots. Not many fucntions, but there are four USB 2.0 ports on the I/O panel where there also are PS/2 connectors for mouse and keyboard, and audio ports. We also find four SATA 3.0 Gbps ports on the motherboard.
MSI H61MU-E35 B3 use Military Class II technology with high-quality components and ships with passive cooling for the chipset.
MSI H61MU-E35 B3 can be found in lots of stores and the first delivieres should go out in the last week of April. Together with Intel’s entry level models of the Sandy Bridge family this could be a very affordable office PC.
