Zotac is behind many of the convenient mini-ITX solution we have today and it now has two more coming, sport the new Z68 chipset, that allows overclocking and access to the GPU in Sandy Bridge. Besides that it has chosen to integrate a NVIDIA GT 430 into one of the card.
The new Z68 GT430 ITX-WiFi is probably the most special motherboard in a long time. This comes with Intel’s new Z68 chipset and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 430 GPU integrated into the motherboard and the idea is to allow the user to switch between NVIDIA’s GPU and the integrated one in Sandy Bridge, and for small, narrow builds this could be a nice option.
Considering the integrated GPU takes up so much space on the PCB the company had to make compromises like two DDR3 SO-DIMMs instead of regular DDR3 memories. The motherboard sports 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, four USB 3.0 where two can connect to the front of the case, two SATA 6 Gb/s, two SATA 3 Gb/s, eSATA, 7.1 channel audio and four video outputs; two DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort. We also find an open PCI-Express x4 slots for those who wants to use another graphics cards, but then the next motherboard is an even better choice.
The other boards may not be as special, but just as interesting since home builders and enthusiasts have been crying out for motherboards with Z68 and this may be what they are looking for. Z68ITX-WiFi comes with passive cooling on the power consumption and southbridge, two normal size DDR3 memories and a PCI-Express x16 slot.
Other specifications include 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, four USB 3.0 whereof 2 can connect to the front, two SATA 6 Gb/s, two SATA 3 Gb/s, 7.1 channel audio and three video outputs; two HDMI and one mini DisplayPort.
