Adobe continues to develop it’s widely used, although criticized media player Flash Player. When it rolls out the first official beta of Adobe Flash Player 11 it brings several big news. Among others 64-bit support, playback of 7.1 channel audio and Stage3D that can be used for 3D rendering in Flash with GPU acceleration.

Flash Player 11 beta is currently available at Adobe’s website, where we can also see that the new player supports local coding of video with H.264/AVC and better support for VoIP.

Adobe seems to be focused on making the Flash format even braoder and with support for surround sound we can see a new level of flash-based video on the Internet. At the same time the support for Stage3D “Molehill” will enable impressive 3D games that plays directly in flash.

If Adobe can turn the negative oponents and do something about the high system requirements remains to be seen, but the company seem determined to continue its development of Flash, which we of course appreciate.
