Next in line Toshiba has presented its Ultrabook, Portege Z830. It will like other models we’ve seen sport an aluminum case, but it is the first to sport a backlit keyboard that is water resistant, which may make coffee drinkers rejoice?
Toshiba Portege Z830 will be its first Ultrabook and measurse ~16 mm(0.63″) and weighs less than 1.2 kg, which is well within the frames Intel has set for the Ultrabook. It has managed to fit an 8-cell 47Wh battery. The computer comes with a 13.3″ screen with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and as we mentioned in the introduction a backlit keyboard.
As for hardware Portege Z830 will be available in different configurations, but can be had with up to 6 GB DDR3-minne, Core i3, i5 or i7 processor, although all dual-core 17W models and eventually a SSD at up to 128 GB. Z830 comes with 802.11b/g/n WiFi together with Intel WiDi (Wireless Display) and connections are the now obligatory HDMI, USB 3.0, and SD card reader.
The entire Z830 series will launch in November, along with Lenovo IdeaPad U300, costing somehere below $1,000.
