Shuttle continues to move out small an capable systems in the XPC family. The latest member is called XPC H7 5820S that besides a powerful hexa-core Intel Core i7 processor that connects up to no less than 16 monitors.
Shuttle XPC H7 5820S measures only 32.6 x 20.8 x 18.9/19.6 centimeter and uses Shuttle’s SFF formfactor. Shuttle Form Factor is usually called Small Form Factor and despite the small dimensions the company has managed to squeeze in a lot of power and functionality.
With a tailored FX58 Pro motherboard for Intel LGA1366 there is support for hexa-core Gulftown processors and up to 16GB DDR3 memory. The processor is cooled by Shuttle’s patented Integrated Cooling Engine (I.C.E.) that uses heatpipes and larger radiator at the back of the case.
The system can be equipped with two 3.5″ harddrives or SSDs and a 5.25″ optical unit. Other functions inlcude dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, 8 channel audio, 8 x USB 2.0 ports, 2 x USB 3.0, eSATA and 500 watt power supply.
Depending on if you want a pwoerful rendering machine or wants infinite workspace you can pick between a Nvidia Quadro graphics card for 3D rendering or two Matrox M9188 cards that together supports up to 16 separate monitors.
The price of Shuttle H7 5820S depends on the configuration, but the top model with an Intel Core i7-980X processor, 16GB RAM, dual Matrox M9188 graphics cards, 240GB SSD and 2TB HDD costs around 5,000€ – without monitors.
