Motherboard giant ASUS continues to work with package solutions for its components and the latest include new Intel X79 motherboards. ASUS is now selling multiple models bundled with a free copy of Battlefield 3 and affordable yet powerful water coolers from Corsair.
On the very very competitive component market it is hard to stand out, especially in performance and also the functionality is often tied to the platform. Besides price wars most manufacturers have started to use more and more package deals, something ASUS is really pushing after the launch of Intel’s Sandy Bridge-E platform.
With the most lavish processor platform on the market there is room for custom package deals, something ASUS is really using. The two high-end models ASUS Rampage IV Extreme and Rampage IV Formula will be sold in a package together with a free copy of Battlefield 3. This compaign will stop by the end of the year and can be combined with ASUS’ other package solutions.
Besides working with Swedish DICE, ASUS has also teamed up with memory and cooling manufacturer Corsair in North Europe. ASUS Is selling all of its Intel X79 motherboards bundled with Corsair’s two latest CPU water coolers, H80 or H100, where you can count on a discount of about 20-30 euro depending on the choice of motherboard. A package deal that works well since the Core i7-3xxx processors ships without coolers, and need really good cooling when overclocking.
ASUS is said to be planning a package with bundled DDR3 memories to further lower system costs with a few tens.
We don’t mind the packages as customers get added value for their investments, and hopes to see more of this in the future.
