GeForce GTX 680 was a well kept secret for long, but now that the official launch is near the leaks are piling up. The last is a benchmark score from 3Dmark11 with dual GeForce GTX 680 cards showing impressive performance.
At VR-Zone they have published three different 3DMark11 scores with a GeForce GTX 680 SLI configuration. Two of NVIDIA’s new graphics card flagship connected in an Intel LGA2011 system. The processor was an Intel Core i7-3930K overclocked to 5 GHz, sitting on a ASUS ROG Rampage IV Extreme motherboard with 16GB DDR3-2133 RAM. Also the graphics cards were overclocked to 1150 MHz GPU and 1803 MHz memory (7212 MHz effectively).
The benchmarks landed at P16860 in Performance preset, which is a lot better than our own score with GeForce GTX 580 SLI at P12014 or for that matter overclocked XFX Radeon HD 7950 Crossfire that scores P13057. These results were made with an Intel Core i7-3960X CPU at only 3.9 GHz.
The result in Entry preset landed at E22878 while Extreme preset landed at X6243. How well GeForce GTX 680 SLI scales in traditional games and other tests remains to be seen. There does seem to be a lot of power to get from NVIDIA’s new flagship.
