Intel has put a lot of effort on the mobile processor market lately and proves it with the announcement of Centrino and their entirely new-developed Pentium-M processor Banias. Centrino is the name of Intel’s new mobile technology which contains three major parts, Intel Pentium-M (Banias), Intel 855 chipset (M/MG) and an Intel Pro/Wireless networkcard. The whole concept is shortly to enhance the mobile performance and in the same time reduce the power consumption. Intel Pentium-M which goes under the codename Banias is a newly developed processor and impresses with a very good performance and a low power consumption. Anandtech has taken a closer look at Centrino and Intel Pentium-M. It is not hard to understand that Intel’s newborn impresses with this finishing quotation from the review.
