Intel has put a lot of effort on the mobile processor market lately and proves it with the announcement of Centrino and their entirely new-developed Pentium-M processor Banias. Centrino is the name of Intel’s new mobile technology which contains three major parts, Intel Pentium-M (Banias), Intel 855 chipset (M/MG) and an Intel Pro/Wireless networkcard. The whole concept is shortly to enhance the mobile performance and in the same time reduce the power consumption.
