The two major chipset manufacturers VIA and SiS has very large difficulties to cover the demand of their chipsets. The selling of the manufacturers products has been unexpectedly strong during March which came a as a surprise. For example, SiS has major problems with large demands on their budget chipsets for Pentium 4, SiS650GX and SiS651. VIA on the other hand has more or less gone out of their south bridge VT8235 which makes it very hard for them to sell any chipsets. The asset of VIA’s north bridges is enough, but they can only cover 60% to 70% of the orders because of lack of south bridges.
