Gaming in 3D compared two state-of-the-art coolers, being the Zalman CNPS7000Cu and Thermalright SLK-900U. Both are heavyweights, made out of copper, and build for the Pentium 4 platform (although Zalman’s solution should also work with an Athlon 64).
This review was written out of a silent-pc perspective; no heavy overclocking and sure no screaming Delta fans. Just comparing two of the best air-cooling solutions available:
“Despite the complexity of the heatsinks, the conclusion is quite clear. Both models provide excellent performance, even trudging into watercooling territory. You can’t go wrong with either one, but each I would recommend to different groups. If you’re looking for a better P4 heatsink with no mess, no fuss, and no work… and peace and quiet to boot… the 7000Cu is your man. If you like variety, if you like LED fans, if you like ultimate performance, if you like modding you case ’til you die… there’s no other but the 900U.”
