It was quite hard yesterday to make all the presstatement about all the new launched chipset and motherboards for the new Athlon XP 3200+ with 400MHz FSB. It has now begin come up tests of the new products and first out is nVidia’s and VIA’s latest chipset, nForce Ultra 400 respectivley KT600. They have taken a closer look at this two chipset together with the new Athlon XP 3200+ processor at HardOCP.
VIA KT600, which is still not using DualDDR, shows up to be a superior concurrent för nVidia-chipset, which have to see themselves beaten in most of the tests by VIA’s latest creation. VIA has undeniably succeeded to optimize their memorycontroller even more and the question right now is just when does any motherboard with this chipset show up? We can add that the KT600-card is a reference card from VIA but it looks, undeniably, very interesting if this card representate performance for the retail-card.
