EVGA looks to be the next motherboard maker to jump on theo trend of powerful motherboards in the mini-ITX format. While waiting for the official launch EVGA has shared some pictured of a matte black motherboard with a specific target audience.
EVGA has not released any complete details for the coming mini-ITX motherboard, but judging from the pcitures it will be a bit different than the competition. EVGA will not be adding that many extra functions, which means no Wi-Fi which is otherwise almost default nowadays. The board will have a mini-PCIe port for WiFi cards, or a small SSD.
EVGA has worked on the space around the socket where it has made room for a big nitrogen pot for those who have one. Based on the Z77 chipset the motherboard supports Intel’s latest Ivy Bridge processors and has multiple video outputs, including a mini-DisplayPort that can be seen on the pictures. It does not support Thunderbolt though.
The southbridge has a small passive heatsink and is placed next to four SATA ports (2xSATA 6,0 Gbps, 2xSATA 3,0 Gbps) and sole PCI Express x16 slot for graphics cards. We can also see dedicated buttons for power and reboot, and two fan connections. When EVGA Z77 ITX will arrive we don’t know exactly, same goes for the price. There is still no doubt that Intel’s Z77 chipset has become a favorite among motherboard makers when it comes to small and convenient mini-ITX boards.
FUCKING YES!
But I gotta ask; how is the SATA clearance when putting a long GPU on that board?
