I visited Gainward Nordic in Malmö today to get some information for a small article we’re writing. At Gainward’s place there was a nice 5900 Ultra with the frequently mentioned CoolFX cooling. Of course we got to play some with the unit. The article will be up sometime next week with an interview and some general nice info, till then I think you can handle the pleasure of these two images:
Only 30 degrees celcius after some ten times of 3Dmark03 and 2001. This when the card was running at 510/1010. The FX 5900 Ultra that I have at home runs at 475/950 and is twice as hot.
Here you can see the whole kit. We have taken the components out of the computer so you can have a better view. Another nice detail is that the card, despite the watercooling, only takes one slot. Furthermore the 120mm fan on the radiator is next to completely silent.
Of course we will, as soon we get a review example, give you a real investigation of Gainward’s package. The clock frequencies you see specified will probably get a good lift using the next BIOS revision (the present was slightly flawed).
