ATi discloses the world’s first PCI Express-based graphics card at IDF. Let the illustration speak for itself:
Supposedly, the card is based on the upcoming RV360 circuit that we’ve heard of before. In other words, it’s the successor to the Radeon 9600 Pro graphics card. Apparently, Intel is using this type of card to validate its PCI Express platform. For the uninformed, we are happy to reveal that PCI Express is an upcoming interface, expected to replace PCI, AGP, PCI-X, etc. PCI Express will, in its first design, be able to transfer up to 8 times as much information as AGP 8X.
