A remote for customization perhaps?

When you think of a remote control, what do you most often associate it with? Your television or stereo I’d guess? But to what do you associate when thinking of remote controls working towards computers? ATi’s AIW cards? Maybe Hauppauge’s WinTV cards? But when are remote controls really needed? I’d personally say that it’s for the same use as why you have your remote control with your stereo and TV. Changing some kind of passive medium like music or fast forwarding in a DVD movie. Since the computer more and more acts like a fully-fledged multimedia station, the need to be lazy and control many of the computers from a greater distance. (Like when lying in a couch or bed a rough 12 feet away?)

Presented is a handset from TekGems. Though the handset itself is not purely made to be used for the same as the installed defaults, this only gives more room for your own customizations, though this is supposed to be not for the impatient. Though the installation seems rather complicated, it also seems to do what it is supposed to, though with Winamp 3, which is soon to be a bit outdated. But since it’s customizable this shouldn’t really be too much of a hinder.

So if you are like me, feeling a bit lazy and intrigued by this nifty product, I think you should click here to read bit-tech’s useful “Winamp Remote Control review”.
