At Bit-Tech they’ve published an image of a mainboard from ASUS based on ATI’s coming RD-400-platform, which is really nothing else than ATI’s answer to NVIDIA’s SLI-technology.
In other terms ATI is very near to launching their own SLI-platform and according to an ASUS-representantive this board will be launched in two months.
The board will support dual ATI-graphics cards with a bridge, similar to NVIDIA’s SLI-bridge, not only to support more monitors but also to function as one unit to increase performance.

Any details on RD-400 wasn’t released but the card found in ASUS monter was for Intel’s LGA775-platform and supported 1066MHz FSB and Dual DDR2-667.

We are eagerly awaiting more information on ATI’s own SLI-technology and hopefully it will be a worthy opponent to NVIDIA’s dito.
