Sapphire has announced that they will launch a graphics card based on ATI’s X800XL graphics circuit. X800XL is perhaps the most priceworthy highend card there is today with its 16 pipelines and PCI Express interface there is plenty of performance.
Sapphire’s Ultimate X800XL is equipped with 256MB GDDR3-ram that will work at 490MHz (980MHz DDR) and the GPU at 400MHz.
Then what so special about Sapphire’s Ultimate-card? It’s the cooler it has chosen to use. Namely a “Zalman-model” that has proven itself very efficient at low level of noice.
In other terms a graphics doesn’t have to sound like a jetplane to perform well.
Sapphire Ultimate X800XL will arrive at the beginning of April and costs about $450. A hot (pun!) candidate in this price range.
