HP (Hewlett-Packard) has the last couple of days launched a whole a series of new HDTV-products and among others 10 different high resolution TVs (Pavilion). They rely on three different technologies, rear projection TV, Plasma TV and LCD TV. The first looks really nice and weighs in at 65″ and 58″, offers full HDTV-support at 1080p but also the 720p models at 59″ and 50″ is expected to be available in american stores at the end of the summer. Except the impressive rear projection TVs it launches screens with Plasma and LCD-technology. Alas there are no detailed specifications available for any models, but HP’s Plasma TVs will be available at 50″ and 42″ and will use next generation of Plasma-technology for better image quality. With a capacity of 3.62 billion colors things are looking quite promising. The LCD-models will be available at 37″. 32″ and 27″ but other than that there is no information available on HP’s LCD-TVs. The contrastratio is suppose to vary depending on the lighting of the room though which seems quite promising. Now we only have to wait for HP to send some of these babies over seas.
