Small preview imageCreative X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity is the name of the new sound circuit that Creative’s next geneation of sound cards will be based on. The sound circuit has now been officially launched and the specifications shows quite clear that also the audio portion of our computers still have a great way to go. The X-Fi chip consists of 51 milion transistors and works at 400MHz. The EMU10K2.5-circtuit (Audigy 2 ZS) works at 200MHz and consists out of 4.6 milion transistors and according to Creative the power of X-Fi is 24 times greater than EMU10K2.5’s circuit. In other words there is more than enough power for some sound effects and high quality sound playback.

Creative X-Fi will according to Creative through its enormous performance offer better playback and recording to MP3s, improve the sound in PC-ganes and offer loads of effects to improve the audio experience to the best.

“The Creative X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity audio processor provides key modes that are optimized for experiences with MP3 music, gaming, movies and audio creation. Each mode is configured to dynamically dedicate the processor’s power to deliver only the features, quality and capabilities that the user requires.”

Creative has without a doubt taken a big leap with its sound circuit X-Fi. It supplies an uncomparable amount of power and the question is really how we the consumers will be able to make use of it all. we hope to bale to answer all this in a future article on Creative’s X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity but until then you will have to suffice with Creative’s press release.
