Xbox 360 will cost $300

Xbox 360 will be the first new gaming console to reach us as it is being lunched during December this year and as the first global console launch ever. Microsoft has finally released soem details regarding the price as the company’s corporate vice president, J Allard, reveals to TheStreet.com that the price of Xbox 360 will be around 300 dollar. Which really can only be considered a real great! However he did not promise this will be the final price but now we now in what area to expect at least. Exactly how the prices will vary from country to country is hard to tell but we can only hope they will be similar.

About $300 for an Xbox 360 almost feels to good to be true considering the impressive hardware you get. We are quite sure that Microsoft is prepared to lose money on the console, which it also did with Xbox. It seems pretty obvious that Xbox 360 will cost more to manufacture and distribute than 300 dollar a piece.

Considering Microsoft’s 6 month headstart abd its low introduction price it seems it wants to put a lot of pressure on Sony that will launch its console, PlayStation 3, during the mid of next year. A console that so far is expected to cost a bit more than the Xbox 360. The competition is really pushing the prices in the right direction, at least for us consumers.
