Optimus is without a doubt the most impressive keyboard we’ve ever seen, hand down. As the editor at a hardware site you are pretty evened out and it takes quite a lot to impress you now adays, but Optimus really has what it takes. The keyboard has been developed by Russian designers that works with inustrydesign. Except for a really clean design Optimus has a very ingenious key-setup. It’s not the layout but that the keys themselves, all are namely small indivdual displays! Optimus is the first (?) keyboard that can not only change function but also the look of the keys. A supreme technology for those that uses several languages, but there are more intereteing uses. Since alla keys are tiny displays they can not only display letters or numbers it can just as well display icons and images. There are even a couple of extra buttons setup for your favouriteprograms. Another interesting use is that you can change the looks of the keys to fit your favourite game, which might just be Quake? Optimus is truly a unique creation but right now it’s unceratin whether the keyboard actually will be released. The developers at Art Lebedev Studio is still awaiting a patent for its creation. When the patent has been accepted we have to wait and see if any amnufacturer feels that this is a technology worth producing to any larger amount. We fear the price will be as high as the coolness factor. Source: Art Lebedev Studio
