ATi has according to DigiTimes developed drivers for its CrossFire-compatible graphic cards that makes it possible to use CrossFire with Intel’s 955X chipset. ATi will launch two chipset of their own for its CrossFire-technology, RD400 for Intel and RD480 for AMD, but it wants to broaden the use of CrossFire and it will apparently also work with Intel’s own chipsets. When it comes to nVidia and its chipsets we aren’t all that optimistic that ATi will launch drivers that will enable CrossFire on its platforms. The question should instead be if nVidia will open up its competing SLI-technology to other chipsets.
