Playstation 3 will be around for 10 years?

That is just what Sony’s VP Ken Kutaragi claims at least. Ken Kutaragi admit that PS3 will get a higher price than earlier versions from the manufacturer but the biggest reason for this is that PS3 is such a safe purchase for the future according to Sony. By support for full HDTV-resolution and Blu-ray unit it is aimgin for a 10 year life cycle for PS3. We can certainly understand their way of thinking but at the same time it feels quite naive to think that a gaming console will remain competitive for a decade, no matter what technology it contains at the launch. We are still waiting for the price though, especially since Sony admits that the console will be expensive.
