Windows Vista Beta 1 has just as IE7 Beta 1 become available for handpicked beta-testers but some has had the operating system even longer. At WinSuperSite they have namely published an extensive preview on Windows Vista Beta 1 and the news it brings sine the last version. Paul Thurrott, who has written the article, has been openly criticizing earlier versions of Longhorn, the previous name, but now it seems MS has been able to improve Windows Vista quite a lot. But so far, according to Paul, it’s more of an evolution than revolution, and it promised the latter. This is an early beta and a lot will happen before the launch. Apparently there is still missing some of the features the regular users will most likely appreciate. The biggest improvements has been made beneath the shelland perhaps explains why Beta 1 isn’t seen as an official beta of Windows Vista. Another interesting thing is that Windows Vista was very fast and right now Microsoft seems to have been able to make Windows Vista faster than Windows XP. Right now Windows Vista is hardly a revolutionizing OS, but there is potential. “On that note, as long as Microsoft can continue to meet and, God forbid, exceed expectations in future builds, then Windows Vista is on the right path. It might be worth comparing this build to Whistler Beta 1, which at the time only barely hinted at the goodness to come. But Windows Vista Beta 1 is much further along than was Whistler Beta 1. Maybe this thing isn’t a train wreck after all.” :: Read on at WinSuperSite
