ISS-analysts reveals Cisco security holes

0

Michael Lynn from Internet Security Systems has resigned since he felt that he had to reveal information regarding a security hole in Cisco’s IOS (Internet Operating System). The reason he thought it was so important is that the security holes of this size can be fatal for the entire internetas IOS from Cisco is used by most things that has to do with the interne. After 6 months of work Michael discovered that using worm-attacks you can shut down several internetrouters. Something Cisco hasn’t revealed officially. In future IOS a feature called “virtual process” would make it much easier to create a “routing worm that breaks every router in the world”, which doesn’t sound all that fun to be honest.
