Seagate increase its lead

Seagate has for long been the leading party on the harddrive market and it will continue to be so. It has namely increased its lead during the second qaurter of 2005 through a unusually high demand for storage units. Seagate has 30.5% of the harddrive market worldwide today, an increase from 28.6% from the first quarter. Seagate was also the manufacturer that increased its sales the most duiring the second quarter but then again many manufactureres reported unusually high sales for this season, among others Western Digital and Maxtor, which are based in USA just as Seagate. Although Maxtor did loose marketshares during the second quarter and was moved down a spot by Hitachi to fourth.
