HDCP and today’s monitors

Windows Vista will without a doubt support some form of DRM (Digital Rights Management) and one of the technologies Windows Vista has to support for a full multimedia experience is HDCP. This is abasically because most HD-material that will be released will require support for this or you will not be able to view the material. Just as it is required by the OS it is also required by your display. Something Ars Technica discusses in its article since nearly no monitors of today supports HDCP, which means that you will not be able to view HD-material with them them. Not uncompressed at least. A very interesting article which discusses some of the problems we most likely will run into.
