Samsung will launch dual-format player

Samsung is one of the biggest home electronics companies in the world and also is also involved a lot in the PC-market. Considering all this it no surprise it is keeping a watching eye over the next generation of DVD-formats, or more precise the two hoping to become the standard. Blu-ray and HD DVD won’t join up and become one and we will see two types of hardware and media in stores next year. Samsung says it will make things easier by launching a DVD unit that supports both Blu-ray and HD DVD. Samsung is basically behind Blu-ray, but a dual format player would give them a good head start.
