Small preview imageATi is on the verge of launching its enticipated R520 and the rumours are many and they have’t exactly become fewer as we get closer and closer to the actual launch. At Anandtech they’ve been able to come across some real hard facts on ATi’s new circuits and it seems it will be called by the name we reported on earlier, X1800. All R520-based cards wil be called Radeon X1800, but with different suffixes depending on its specifications. Anandtech talks a lot about the internal bus at 512-bit but the fact remains that the first X1800-cards will have only 16 pixel pipelines.

It also brings forth the new mid and low end cards where we have Radeon X1600 based on RV530 and X1300 based RV515. The first will share most  features with the R520 and only be reduced when it comes to the number of pipelines and an internal bus at 256bit.
