Radeon X1800 XT scores 8600 in 3Dmark05

According to VR-Zone the Japanese site HKEPC has doen some preliminary tests with a R520XT (X1800 XT) and been able to achieve a score of 8600 in 3Dmark05 with an Athlon 64 FX-55. This is roughly 1000 points more than 7800 GTX could do with the same system. The card HKEPC used seems to have 24 pipelines (earlier it was indicated it had 16 pipelines) and works at 650MHz GPU and 1400MHz memories. If these early tests are correct it sure looks promising for R520 which can reach completely new altitudes in frequency with its 90nm technology. Which also seems to be the key of its impressive performance.
