Sapphires Radeon X800 GTO with 16 pipelines

Radeon X800 GTO has just been launched by ATi but already we have learned about a way to unlock extra pipelines with certain circuits. Sapphire’s X800 GTO namely uses R480 which has 16 pipelines in the core. The though is that defective R480-circuits and doesn’t have 16 fully functioning pipelines will be used as GTO-circuits, but apparently it has used fully functional R480-circuits for Sapphire Radeon X800 GTO. Since the extra pipelines are just locked via software you can unlock them and get 16 working pipelines. At TechPowerUp!
