iAudio A2 is the latest addition to the portable media player market. We earlier reported about Creative Zen Vision who really made you wanna rip your arm off and sell for money but now it seems it has gotten some competition when it comes to players with complete video playback. iAudio A2 has on paper quit a lot of intersting features that seems to whip Zen Vision pretty good. If theory and practics goes hand in hand remains to see.
Amonth others we have a bigger display, a 4″ widescreen display whcih can show up to amazing 26 million colors. In other terms more than most of today’s stationary LCD-monitors can show. And quite a few more than the 262 000 colors that Zen Vision has to offer. Although the latter has a higher resolution, 640×480 px compared to 480×272 px with iAudio A2. But then again Zen Vision doesn’t have a widescreen display.
iAudio A2 supports a wide range of sound and movie formats that all can be stored on the harddrive, 20GB or 30GB, through the USB2.0-connection. The player weighs in at 298g shich is 60g more than Zen Vision but the playtome of 17 hours is much, much more than Creative’s model can do.
When the player hits the stores in the middle of October the 20GB model will cost about $500. Below you can find a list of featurs and a nice highres picture of the player.
