Toshiba has announced that it is ready and will manufacture a 30GB HD DVD disc using dual layers. We earlier reported about Toshiba was planning on delaying the launch of HD DVD but we haven’t gotten any final words about this yet but it seems the technology is available and that the discs will be made in a very similar way as the regular DVDs. But before it launches the new discs Toshiba has to do some compability tests with other manufacturerersudirn October. But it claims that HD DVD-players aren’t expected to show up until spring.
