ATi launched its multi-GPU technology CrossFire yesterday and for obvious reasons most of the focus was on the new CrossFire graphic cards and their performance. What many missed, or didn’t pay much attention to, was the chipset that makes CrossFire possible. ATi has developed this chipset entirely to fit the enthusiast users and at Anandtech they written a seperate article on ATi’s CrossFire-mainboard where they focus on overclocking and stability tests, something AT’is reference board handles exceptionally well. ATi seems to be on the right track with its CrossFire-platform and it is going to be mighty interesting to see the retail boards.
