Gigabyte GA-8N SLI Quad Royal is as far from regular that you can get. We have earlier reported about this unique mainboard whose main features is that it supports 4 PCIe graphic cards in one setup, which should make it possible to use a SLI-setup with 4 graphic cards. Mindblowing fantasy and Gigabyte hasn’t had an easy task developing this board. It has namely had to use two different chipsets and despite that its only supports Intel’s Socket 775-processors is uses an AMD-based nForce 4 SLI chipset. Gigabyte GA-8N SLI Quad Royal can with its unique graphic card setup capable of powering 10 separate monitors and hardwarewise it would be possible to run a Quad SLI-configuration. Unfortunately this is limited on the driver side of things, but we surely hope that nVidia will remove this limitation soon. The mainboard is geared towards workstations and the fact is that Gigabyte has been able to design a really good mainboard despite the oddness that is this board. It both overclocks well, offers good performance and supports up to 10 monitors with the right graphic cards. Impressive is the least we can think of.
