Sapphire Radeon X1800XL – worth your money?

0

Small preview imageSapphire Radeon X1800XL is one of the first next-gen-videocards on the market based on ATI’s new core X1800XL. We had a quick peek at the performance at one of ATI’s reference-cards of the X1800XL, and the preview is available here. Bit-Tech has now took a closer look on one of the first consumer-edition-cards named X1800XL, and compared it against its main competitor, the GeForce 7800 GT. The cards perform quite similarly, but the X1800XL loses a bit of its ability to compete. It is at the moment a more expensive card than the 7800 GT, which has been out for sale quite a while now. The Radeon X1800XL has potential, but ATI’s pricetag seems to be a little obstacle put in the way.

Overclocking-tests of the X1800XL is also something very interesting, bearing especially all the 7800 GT-cards sold overclocked straight out from the manufacturers in mind. We will soon publish a in-depth-article featuring ATI’s latest graphics-cards, comparing the performance on the cards, and right now we are working on getting overclocking-tools from ATI, to provide you some additional information about it. So keep an eye out for our upcoming article. Until then you might want to read the Sapphire X1800XL-review at Bit-Tech.
