Xbox 360’s controller knocks out wireless equipment

0

Xbox 360 has already appeared as demo machines in the US, at Wal-Mart among others. Unfortunately the stores are having problems with these system. The wireless controllers (which are connected to the console with a USB-cable to keep it charged) are disturbíng other wireless products in the vicinity of the remote as it uses the already crowded 2.4GHz frequency range, e.g. wireless networks and wireless phones use this range. The effect of this has been the that bar code readers at the checkouts have stopped working. This has caused concern among the buyers that Xbox 360’s controllers will cause the same type of troubles in the home. Something Microsoft ensures that it won’t happen.
