PlayStation 3 filled with digital media from day one

PlayStation 3 is just as Xbox 360 a gaming console meant for more than just plain gaming. The multimedia features has been given a lot room and this is not the least because of Sony’s choice of using its next generation optical format Blu-ray with PlayStation 3. This may very well be the move that will win the format war against HD DVD but Sony is planning on selling its gaming console filled with digital media such as movies and TV-programs. The price will according to NFHQ be between 300-400 USD, which sounds like a very competitive price considering Microsoft’s launch price for Xbox 360. It seems that Sony has cut the online serives to make room for the multimedia features with PlayStation 3. Whether this will be a winning concept or not remains to see.
