Cray use Opteron for super computers

Cray is a respected super computer designer and it has lately been using a lot of AMD’s Opteron processors. It seems that Cray is very satisfied with AMD’s platform as it has now announced that it will continue to work with AMD all the way up until the end of this decade with designing super computers based on the AMD64 architecture. The goal is develop computer systems that will be used for both scientific, military and indutrial research. It claims to be able to reach 1 petaflop or more before the end of the decade.
